⛳ NEW COURSE: TBC Dunes

My version of the Dunes Course at Monterey Peninsula Country Club is live. It sits right on the California coast near Pebble Beach, and you all picked it, so this one's for you. I'll say it up front: from my run-throughs so far, this is one of the more genuinely fun courses I've built.

This whole place is about the ocean. You're never far from it. Holes run along a rocky shoreline, the wind comes off the water, and the views do half the work of making you want to keep playing. I spent a lot of time trying to get that exposed, out-on-the-edge feeling right.

A few of the tees sit up high and look straight out over the water, which makes for some of those drives where you just stand there for a second before you hit. The shoreline holes hug the rocks tight enough that a loose shot is gone for good. It rewards committing to a line and punishes second-guessing, which is exactly how a course like this should feel.

The cypress trees do a lot of the framing here. Greens tucked behind them, fairways bending around them, that classic Monterey look where the trees are as much a hazard as the bunkers.

The turf is firm and the waste areas are sandy and everywhere, so the ground game matters. Run-ups, bounce-outs, balls feeding off slopes. If you play it like a target course you'll fight it. Play it along the ground and use the contours, and it opens up.

The light out there at the end of the day is hard to beat. I caught a few of these shots right as the sun was getting low and didn't want to stop taking them. Lighting should be solid out of the box, but as always, let me know if anything looks off on your setup and I'll take a look.
