This one is a little different from the usual release. Magnolia Meadows is one of the first courses I ever built, going back a long way now. It's based on a short executive course that used to be near me and doesn't exist anymore. The land got sold and the course went with it. I used to play it with my dad when he got older and a full eighteen was more walking than his legs wanted. We'd go out late in the day, play the short stuff, and not keep too close an eye on the score. Some of my favorite rounds with him happened on a little course nobody would have called famous.
I pulled this build back out, cleaned it up, and gave it new life. And once I started playing it again I realized what it really is now: a perfect Break 50 course.

If you have not done the Break 50 thing, the idea is simple. It's a short course, the holes are gettable, and the whole point is to go as low as you possibly can. No grinding out pars on 470 yard monsters. You're trying to make birdies stack up and chase a number. It's the kind of round that's fun on its own and even better with a buddy pushing you.
Magnolia is short, but it is not a pushover. The greens are small, the pins can hide behind trees, and you have to actually put the ball where you want it. Get greedy and the pines will remind you they are there. Play smart and aggressive at the same time and the birdies come.

The look is all Southern parkland. Tall pines, azaleas and dogwoods in bloom, soft evening light, manicured fairways winding between the trees. There's a little spot out there I called the Birdie Barn, which felt right for a course built around going low. I leaned into the prettiness on this one. It is meant to feel like a calm, gorgeous walk where you also happen to be trying to light it up.

Here is the fun part. The single-player course record sitting on the sign right now is 61. If you beat it, send me your scorecard and I will put your number up on the sign for everyone to see. And if you play it as a team and post a low score, send me that too and I will add a separate sign for the team record. I want this one to live and breathe a little, with the records changing as you all go after them.

So that's Magnolia Meadows Break 50. A short, beautiful course built a long time ago on a place that's gone, carrying a few good memories with my dad, now set loose as a Break 50 challenge for all of you. It's available now in GSPro for Patreon members. Go chase the record, play it with someone, and send me your best card. I would love to see how low you can go.
