Moonshot Golf Club is live on the members server.
This one was a side quest, which I tend to do from time to time. I wanted to kick off the fall season with something fun and completely different, something adults and kids could both get a kick out of. So I went to the moon.
Here's the trailer:
Moonshot is a full 18, par 70, about 5,300 yards from the back tees. What makes it different is that the round tells a story.
The first few holes are just fun and a little eerie. Then the battles and the suspense start to build. Ships show up, fights break out across the holes, and it keeps building until all heck breaks loose around 15. The battle music kicks in on 17.

Then there's 18. When you step up to the tee, there's a gate out in front of you. Thread your tee shot through it and you stop the takeover. Miss, and you'll see what happens. I'm not going to spoil either ending here.
I had a lot of fun with this part. The driving range is walled in and set up as a shooting gallery. There are targets from short wedge range all the way out to the back wall at 210 yards, and when you hit one, it blows up.

There are concrete structures in there too, so you can bank a ball off them into a target. Stick around long enough and raiders start warping in and shooting at you. Hit them and you take them down. When you start your round on hole 1, they clear out.
It's a warm-up and a game at the same time, and I think the kids especially are going to love it.
Every hole has its own name, from Landfall on 1 to Last Light on 18, and its own set pieces. A giant ring gate towers over the 2nd, and the Ion Gate hangs over the par 3 5th.

Sections of the fairways and greens are glass, and you can look straight through them into space. On 2 and 8 the asteroids hang right in your ball flight. There's a ramp on 12 that sends your ball down a chute if you hit it right, a glowing creek on 7, and a crash site on 16.

Water hazards are marked with red beacons and out of bounds with purple ones, so you can tell them apart at a glance.

There are six sets of tees. The back tees play about 5,300 yards, the junior tees about 3,100, and there's a par 3 set under 1,800 yards, so younger players can get around without it turning into a slog.
A few early reactions from people who played it first:
Dude. That was a blast. Looking to switch things up and have some pure fun, this is the one!
This. Is. Awesome!
This was so fun to play, amazing job!
Graphics were unreal!
Holy Crap!! I spent a lot of time just flying around to look at different stuff. Great job!
It's also in the RISE Random 9 pool, so you might draw it in Quick 9.
There's a lot going on in this one. If you run into anything, performance or otherwise, let me know and I'll get it cleaned up.

Next up is Meadow Club in Fairfax, California, and I'm already deep in the weeds on it. I've also got some big things cooking for the fall that I can't wait to share with everyone.
Enjoy Moonshot, and let me know what you think.
