About This Course
My replica of Meadow Club in Fairfax, California, Alister MacKenzie's first course in America. MacKenzie and Robert Hunter laid it out in 1927 in a valley below Mount Tamalpais, and 17 of the 18 greens are still his originals. It plays par 71 and about 6,750 yards from the back tees. Golden meadow grass, rock outcroppings, conifer-covered hills and bunkers shaped like the oaks on the mountainsides give it a look all its own, and the course has some life to it too: vultures circling, a crow flock and a small plane passing over, butterflies and drifting leaves. Eight sets of tees, including junior and par 3 tees.
